Rotary Club of Ladysmith Inducts Two New Members

It has been a very good year for membership growth in the Rotary Club of Ladysmith. With the induction of Jun Sison and Colleen Youngblut, both recent residents of Ladysmith, the club has welcomed five new members so far this year.

We extend a warm welcome to Jun, Colleen, and all our new members. Rotary is a global network of more than 1.2 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who unite to take action and create lasting change — across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.

Ladysmith Days are here — and so is the Rotary Pancake Breakfast!

A big thank you to everyone who came out this morning to enjoy a delicious breakfast at Transfer Beach. Special thanks to all the Rotarians who volunteered their time — and to our guest pancake flippers, Mayor Deena Beeston and MP Tamara Kronis, for lending their skills to the grill!

Ladysmith Chemainus Orcas Swim Club

The latest Rotary initiative—the Beverage Container Drop-Off—continues to raise funds for Rotary projects while supporting local community organizations through shared proceeds. Last month and until July 3rd, LaFF (Ladysmith Family and Friends) benefitted from the program.

Now, from July 4th through July 31st, the Rotary Club of Ladysmith is partnering with the Ladysmith Chemainus Orcas Swim Club to help them reach their goal of hosting competitive swim meets right here in Ladysmith. Your support of this initiative could play a part in helping develop the next generation of athletes—perhaps even a future Olympian.

Please consider dropping off your refundable containers and supporting this worthwhile cause.

Beverage Container Drop Off

Have you been saving recyclables in the hope that a non-profit would run a bottle drive in your neighborhood? Or maybe you're doing some spring cleaning and want to get rid of the bottles that piled up over the winter?

Good news! You’ll soon be able to drop off your unwanted beverage containers any time, day or night at the Rotary Beverage Container Drop-Off, conveniently located across from Aggie Hall.

All proceeds from the collected recyclables will go toward supporting Ladysmith Rotary’s community projects. Thank you for helping make a difference!

Rotary Bottle Recycling Bin

On Saturday, March 22, 2025, a group of Rotarians took advantage of the beautiful weather to prepare a sea container bin for painting. This container will be placed at the Country Grocer property, where individuals can drop off their recyclable bottles and drink containers. The proceeds from the collected recyclables will benefit the participating groups collaborating with Rotary on this project.
